Job summary

THX Ltd is seeking a trainee workshop assistant to support cleaning, inspection, and basic maintenance of hire equipment as the workshop moves to new premises. You will learn inspection techniques and assist with repairs as you gain hands-on experience.

The role runs Monday to Friday with occasional overtime to meet customer demand. You’ll relocate in the new year from Bedford to MK43 0YL and join a friendly, supportive team focused on成长 and service excellence.

• Exceptional eye for detail and ability to work accurately at speed, including with numbers.
• Good computer skills.
• Self-motivated and prepared to take ownership of your work.
• Practical understanding and mindset, with the ability to work quickly and methodically.

• Ability to concentrate while doing repetitive tasks and strong time management.
• Able to work alone as well as being a genuine team player.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning and maintaining the presentation of equipment.

Job description

We require an enthusiastic, practical and proactive trainee workshop assistant. With our workshop moving to new premises in the new year, you will help with the cleaning and inspection of basic hire equipment while training in the inspection and repair of more technical hire items.

Key responsibilities:

• Cleaning and maintaining the presentation of equipment
• Inspecting and testing returning hire equipment (training given)
• Ensuring THX identification numbers are clearly marked and visible on all items
• Using a computer-based system to record inspections
• Regularly checking, cleaning and tidying our workshop
• Providing support to our warehouse, workshop and driving teams as required

Monday to Friday working hours, overtime may sometimes be required to meet customer demand.

Currently based in Bedford (MK41 0QB), but relocating in the new year to MK43 0YL.
