Job summary

Vision for Education offers a National Teaching Assistant Programme that places trainees in schools with high-quality training and paid on-the-job experience. After interview and safeguarding checks, participants will be placed in a primary, secondary or SEND setting and receive ongoing support from a dedicated consultant.

Before starting, trainees complete a training programme delivered by ABC Teachers and school leaders to acquire essential TA skills, including safeguarding, class support and

Qualifications

• Have personal experience working with children, young people and adults with SEND is ideal.
• Be passionate and driven about improving outcomes for children and young people.
• Understand the crucial importance of keeping children and young people safe.
• Be able to explain at interview why you want to start a career in education and the role of a Teaching Assistant.
• Be committed to completing the required training and participating in ongoing CPD.
• Be willing to pay for an enhanced DBS check and register with the Update Service.

Responsibilities

• Assist the class teacher with recording and reporting pupil progress and behaviour.
• Support interventions and provide additional support to children with SEND.
• Work with pupils and staff to build positive relationships and manage behaviour.
• Contribute to safeguarding and welfare of pupils as part of daily activities.
