Vision for Education is launching the National Teaching Assistant Programme across the Midlands to support individuals starting a Teaching Assistant career. Trainees will join client schools, receive high quality training and paid on-the-job experience, with safeguarding and identity checks completed before placement.

Qualifications

• Have personal experience working with children, including SEND where relevant.
• Be passionate and driven about improving outcomes for children.
• Understand the importance of keeping children safe.
• Be able to explain at interview why you want to start a career in education and the role of a Teaching Assistant.
• Be committed to completing the required training and ongoing CPD.
• Willing to pay for an enhanced DBS check and register with the Update Service.

Responsibilities

• Assist the class teacher with managing behaviour, support interventions and provide additional support to children with SEND.
• Record and report pupil progress and behaviour and help ensure good classroom progress.
