Vision for Education are launching National Teaching Assistant Programme (NTAP) to help passionate individuals begin a rewarding career in education. We seek enthusiastic, caring people to train as Teaching Assistants in primary schools across Colchester and surrounding areas.

The programme provides free online training, practical classroom experience, ongoing support, and access to long-term opportunities within a supportive network.

Qualifications

• Ability to work with children is essential.
• Experience in childcare, coaching, youth work, or similar roles is beneficial.
• Willingness to learn and develop through training.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils in the classroom, 1:1 and in small groups.
• Assist teachers with lesson delivery and activities.
• Help create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Working in partnership with primary schools across Colchester, we are seeking enthusiastic, caring, and motivated individuals to train and develop into successful Teaching Assistants.

About the National Teaching Assistant Programme

Our National Teaching Assistant Programme is designed to equip you with the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to work effectively in a primary school setting.

The programme includes:

• FREE online training and development
• Practical classroom experience
• Ongoing support from experienced education consultants
• Access to long-term and permanent school opportunities
• Valuable insight into supporting children with a range of learning needs

The Role

As a Trainee Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Support pupils in the classroom, on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
• Assist teachers with lesson delivery and classroom activities
• Help create a positive and inclusive learning environment
• Encourage pupil engagement, confidence, and independence
• Support pupils' social, emotional, and academic development
• Promote positive behaviour and wellbeing

Requirements

To be considered for the role, you will:

• Have a genuine passion for working with children
• Be enthusiastic, patient, and willing to learn
• Have transferable skills gained through childcare, coaching, youth work, care, customer service, or other people-focused roles
• Be able to build positive relationships with children and staff
• Be committed to completing the training programme and developing your skills
