Job Opportunity: SEN Teaching Assistant

Prospero Teaching is seeking individuals interested in a career as a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant. Previous experience working with children or supporting adults with additional needs is preferred, but we also welcome candidates without experience who are eager to start.

We collaborate with schools that support students with moderate and complex learning difficulties, autism, speech & language challenges, and social, emotional & mental health difficulties.

Role Responsibilities:

1. Providing tailored support to children with SEMH and SEN
2. Creating a safe, engaging environment for learning and development
3. Offering academic support on a 1:1 basis or in small groups
4. Assisting the teaching staff

Candidate Requirements:

• Teaching assistant qualification is desirable but not essential
• Experience supporting pupils with SEN, either voluntarily or professionally
• Experience working with children in youth settings

Job Details:

• Location: Pontefract, West Yorkshire
• Position: SEN Teaching Assistant
• Contract: Temporary, with potential for permanent roles
• Minimum Daily Rate: GBP 85
• Hours: Term time, Monday to Friday
• Start Date: ASAP

Eligibility Criteria:

• Right to work in the UK
• Enhanced child DBS registered with the update service or willingness to obtain one
• Two professional child-related references from the last two years
