Engage Education is recruiting a Trainee SEND Teaching Assistant for a Manchester school. You will embark on a fully funded Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship while earning from day one as you support students with SEND across KS1–KS2. The role offers mentoring, progression toward HLTA, and practical school-based training focused on SEND and SEMH.

No school experience required—just the right attitude. Start date: November 2026, 11-month apprenticeship, full-time.

Qualifications

• Fully funded Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship with on-the-job training.
• GCSE Maths & English at grade C/4+ preferred.
• Not enrolled on another government-funded course.

Responsibilities

• Support students 1:1 and in small groups.
• Work with pupils with SEND, SEMH, ASD, ADHD, and learning difficulties.
• Support emotional regulation, behaviour, and engagement.
• Assist with literacy, numeracy, and subject-based interventions.
• Implement support strategies from EHCPs and behaviour plans.
• Support inclusion within the classroom and specialist provisions.
• Assist teachers with lesson preparation and learning resources.
• Support targeted interventions and revision sessions.
