AJN Steelstock, a leading UK steel stockholder, invites applicants to learn how to process customer orders to specifications using a range of manual and CNC machines. The role offers full training for newcomers, with salary reflecting experience and a competitive benefits package.

Overtime is available at time and a half after 40 hours, with day, mid, and night shifts. Training will be provided on day shifts, and there is potential for progression within a busy production environment.

Qualifications

• Full training will be provided for those with no experience.

Responsibilities

• Operate a selection of manual and CNC based machinery for metal processing.
• Process steel to customers' requirements and tolerances.
• Follow the Company's quality system to ensure the full traceability of customer orders.
• Read drawings, orders and follow verbal instructions.
• Operate forklifts, CombiLifts and the crane safely and in a controlled manner.
• Carry out daily checks on equipment, cranes and forklifts before your shift.
• Collate aforementioned orders, including banding, palletising, bagging and preparation for loading.
• Load and offload plate and parts from plasma and laser machines.
• Identify and locate different steel products using appropriate measuring equipment.
• Keep machines and work areas clean and tidy.
• Report any accidents and incidents to the HS&E Manager.
• Report any machine faults/breakdowns to the Production Supervisor or Maintenance Manager.
• Attend all training courses when required.
