Job summary

Otis London is seeking a motivated Trainee Lift Repairs Engineer to learn diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining lift equipment under supervision. You will work alongside experienced engineers to develop hands-on skills in mechanical and electrical systems.

The role offers structured on-the-job training, progression toward NVQ Level 3 in Lift Engineering, and potential to become a fully qualified Lift Repairs Engineer. A valid UK driving license and good safety mindset are encouraged.

Qualifications

• Strong interest in mechanical and/or electrical engineering.
• Willingness to learn and develop new skills.
• Good problem-solving and attention to detail.
• Basic IT and communication skills.
• Full UK driving licence or willingness to obtain.
• Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.

Responsibilities

We are seeking a motivated and hands‑on Trainee Lift Repairs Engineer to join our repair team. This role is ideal for someone looking to start or develop a career in the lift and escalator industry. You will work alongside experienced engineers to learn how to diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide range of lift equipment safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist qualified engineers with the repair and refurbishment of lift systems
• Support fault finding and troubleshooting on mechanical and electrical components
• Carry out basic repair tasks under supervision, including parts replacement and adjustments
• Learn to read and interpret technical drawings and service manuals
• Ensure all work is completed in line with company procedures and industry safety standards
• Maintain accurate records of work carried out
• Keep tools, equipment, and vehicles in good working order
• Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and occasionally customers
• Adhere strictly to health & safety regulations at all times

Training & Development

Requirements
