Job summary

Otis is seeking a motivated Trainee Engineer to join our London repair team. You will learn to diagnose, repair and maintain escalator equipment under the guidance of experienced engineers, with a strong focus on safety and quality.

This hands-on role provides a clear pathway to becoming a fully qualified Lift Repairs Engineer. You'll gain practical skills through structured on-the-job training, with opportunities to work toward NVQ Level 3 in Lift Engineering, and progression into senior

Qualifications

• Strong interest in mechanical and/or electrical engineering
• Willingness to learn and develop new skills
• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Basic IT and communication skills
• Full UK driving licence (or willingness to obtain)
• Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces

Responsibilities

• Assist qualified engineers with the repair and refurbishment of lift systems
• Support fault finding and troubleshooting on mechanical and electrical components
• Carry out basic repair tasks under supervision, including parts replacement and adjustments
• Learn to read and interpret technical drawings and service manuals

Job Title - Trainee Engineer

Overview

We are seeking a motivated and hands-on Trainee Engineer to join our repair team. This role is ideal for someone looking to start or develop a career in the escalator industry. You will work alongside experienced engineers to learn how to diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide range of escalator equipment safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist qualified engineers with the repair and refurbishment of lift systems

Requirements
