Job summary

GVR Solutions Ltd. in Essex invites applications for a Trainee Project Manager to join a well-established building and refurbishment contractor.

The role involves supporting day-to-day project activities across education, healthcare, commercial, and public sectors, with opportunities to learn procurement, programming, budgeting and documentation. You will gain hands-on experience on site and in the office, liaising with site teams and clients, while developing essential skills in project

Qualifications

• Genuine interest in construction and project management; willing to learn.
• Good organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Able to communicate with site teams, subcontractors, suppliers and clients.
• Reliable, punctual and comfortable working both in office and on site.
• Basic knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Outlook or willing to learn.
• Team player capable of working independently.

Responsibilities

• Support the Project Manager with the day-to-day running of allocated projects.
• Assist with project programmes and tracking progress against key dates.
• Attend sites, liaise with site teams and subcontractors, and flag issues affecting programme, quality or safety.
• Assist with the procurement of materials, plant and subcontract packages, checking lead times and availability.
• Gain experience with valuations, variations, purchase orders, subcontractor costs, invoicing and project forecasting.
• Help maintain project records, including meeting notes, updates, actions, photographs and client information.
• Assist with quality checks, snagging and gathering documentation required for project handover.
• Follow company and site procedures, supporting RAMS, toolbox talks and site records where required.
