Job summary

Groundworks Contractor Essex is seeking a Contracts Manager or Trainee Contracts Manager to join the management team in Essex. The role involves delivering several groundworks projects from pre-start to completion, coordinating Site Managers, engineers and site teams, and working with the commercial team to monitor costs and progress.

You will ideally have experience in groundworks or civil engineering projects and be comfortable liaising with clients, site teams and the commercial department.

Qualifications

• Experience in managing groundworks or civil engineering projects.
• Ability to communicate with clients, site teams and commercial teams.
• Understanding of drainage, foundations, roads & sewers, earthworks and related groundworks packages.

Responsibilities

• Managing and overseeing multiple groundworks projects.
• Coordinating Site Managers, Engineers, Supervisors and site teams.
• Planning labour, plant, materials and subcontractor requirements.
• Monitoring project programmes and key dates.
• Attending pre-start, progress and client meetings.
• Working with Quantity Surveyors and the commercial team.
• Monitoring costs, variations and project performance.
• Maintaining relationships with clients and main contractors.
• Ensuring health & safety and quality standards.
• Reporting progress to senior management.
• Supporting projects through to successful completion.
