Job summary

The Boots Company PLC is hiring a Trainee Dispenser in the UK store network. No previous experience is required as full training will be provided through the NVQ2 programme. You will assist the Pharmacy team with dispensing, patient advice, and safe medicine handling, while pursuing your NVQ2 training.

This in-store role focuses on patient care, prescription processing, and collaboration with pharmacists, with clear opportunities for progression within Boots.

Qualifications

• Desire to learn and complete the Dispenser training programme (NVQ2).
• Current and valid UK right to work. This role is not eligible for sponsorship for a Skilled Worker Visa.
• Experience in community pharmacy is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Complete your training for the Pharmacy Advisor NVQ2 programme.
• Prescription dispensing while ensuring safe supply of medicines e.g. ordering medicines, labelling, dispensing, endorsing and collection of prescriptions.
• Work with other healthcare professionals in your store to assist in managing and delivering pharmacy services.
• Provide care and advice to patients about medicines and refer queries to the Pharmacist as appropriate.
• Follow SOPs to support the safe and legal dispensing of prescriptions.
• Keep up to date with new innovations in store and comply with operational processes.
• Support patients to manage their prescriptions and medicines effectively to promote adherence and reduce waste.
