Job summary

EIP is seeking a Trainee Patent Attorney in Leeds, focusing on software, artificial intelligence and computing inventions. You will have hands-on work from day one with regular client and inventor contact as you progress through drafting and related activities.

The role offers hybrid working in the Leeds area with a September 2027 start date (earlier starts considered). A supportive, top-tier team and exposure to cutting-edge technologies await you, including opportunities across AI and telecoms

Qualifications

• Academic degree in CS/Software/Math/AI or related discipline.
• PhD welcomed but not essential.

Trainee Patent Attorney - Software/AI - Leeds | Full-Time | Permanent | Hybrid | Start date: September 2027

We are looking for a trainee patent attorney to join our Leeds team and focus on software, artificial intelligence and computing inventions. The role will include hands‑on work from day one with regular client and inventor contact. You will have the opportunity to work at the cutting edge of machine learning, data processing and computer‑implemented inventions, with scope to move into telecoms and medical technologies. This is hands‑on, high‑impact work for market‑leading tech clients. September 2027 is our standard start date, but we're happy to consider candidates who are ready to join us earlier - get in touch and we'll talk it through.
