Job summary

EIP Europe LLP in Leeds is seeking a Trainee Patent Attorney to specialise in electronics inventions with hands-on responsibilities and regular client contact. You will work across semiconductors, circuit design, signal processing and connected hardware, with potential to move into telecoms and medical technologies.

This is a high‑impact role for a market‑leading tech client base in a hybrid setup. September 2027 is the standard start date, but we are open to earlier joining discussions.

Qualifications

• Academic degree in electronic engineering, electrical engineering, physics or a closely related discipline.
• PhD welcome, but not essential - expertise and capability matter most.
• Curious, analytical, and excited by challenging technology.
• Excellent written and verbal English, with the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly.
• Meticulous attention to detail, initiative, and the ability to work independently.
• Motivated to develop your networking skills and contribute to business development.

The role will include hands‑on work from day one with regular client and inventor contact. You will have the opportunity to work across semiconductors, circuit design, signal processing and connected hardware, with scope to move into telecoms and medical technologies. This is hands‑on, high‑impact work for market‑leading tech clients.
