Specsavers Sutton Coldfield is looking for a Trainee Optical Assistant to join our friendly call centre and store team. No prior optical experience is required; you will help create an outstanding customer experience and support three local stores.
This part-time weekend role offers flexible hours (Saturday and/or Sunday), a supportive training program, pension enrollment, and a birthday with an extra day off.
So, you're a proactive people person, passionate about retail and offering the best customer service? Sounds like you'd be a great fit here. So, if you've ever considered a career in optics, this Trainee Optical Assistant role could be perfect for you.
As a Trainee Optical Assistant, you don't need to have previous experience, you just need to be prepared to create an outstanding store environment for both our customers and our team, making sure every patient receives the best care in our stores.
The Specsavers Sutton Coldfield store is a busy and well-established optical and audiology practice located in the heart of Sutton Coldfield town centre. Following its move to a brand-new store in December 2025, the practice now operates from a modern, purpose-built environment designed to enhance both the customer and colleague experience. Colleagues work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, supporting customers throughout their eye and hearing care journey, from booking appointments through to product selection and aftercare. The store benefits from excellent transport links, with Sutton Coldfield railway station within walking distance, providing regular services to Birmingham city centre and surrounding areas. Multiple local bus routes also serve the town centre, making the store easily accessible.
The team at Specsavers Sutton Coldfield is friendly, supportive, and passionate about delivering exceptional customer care. The successful candidate will be joining a close-knit call centre team of four, working collaboratively to provide a seamless experience for customers and support the wider store operation. As part of this team, you'll be responsible for answering calls and handling enquiries for three local Specsavers stores, ensuring customers receive a professional, efficient, and welcoming service from their very first point of contact. Alongside experienced optical and audiology professionals and dedicated retail colleagues, the team works together to deliver an outstanding customer experience.
