Job summary

The Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a trainee sonographer for its Maternity Ultrasound Department. The role involves learning to interpret diagnostic imaging and issuing clinical reports under supervision across obstetric and gynaecology exams, with progression from Band 6 during training to Band 7 on completion.

Applicants with radiography or midwifery backgrounds are preferred, but nurses and graduates from related fields will be considered.

Qualifications

• Relevant degree.
• Experience in hospital environment.
• Good IT skills.

Responsibilities

• Train to undertake and interpret diagnostic imaging under supervision
• Formulate and issue clinical reports under supervision
• Carry out obstetric, general gynaecology, fertility and emergency gynaecological examinations
• Participate in advanced clinical practice under supervision
• Promote professional practice and uphold the department's reputation
• Maintain confidentiality of patients and NHS information at all times
