Job summary

Barts Health NHS Trust seeks a Band 7 Sonographer to join the Imaging department, providing ultrasound imaging, reporting and patient management in line with BMUS, RCOG, RCR and NICE guidelines.

You will work with Lead Nurses, Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in Women and Children’s, and may oversee day-to-day workload in the absence of the Site Lead. The role requires high professional standards and CPD commitments.

Qualifications

• Post Graduate qualification in Medical Ultrasound.
• Current registration with a regulatory body (HCPC; NMC or GMC) or RCT.
• Desirable: BSc Hons degree or DCR in Diagnostic Radiography.
• Desirable: MSc in Medical Ultrasound.
• Desirable: DQASS Nuchal Translucency certification

Responsibilities

• Interpreting, analysing and reporting ultrasound findings to justify procedures and provide high-quality images.
• Carry out comprehensive assessments across varied patients, prioritising clinical needs.
• Oversee day-to-day workload in the absence of the Site Lead Sonographer.
• Promote patient advocacy and liaise with other healthcare professionals.
