Qualifications

• Recently completed a mechanical engineering apprenticeship, NVQ, BTEC, HNC/HND, City & Guilds qualification, or similar engineering course.
• A keen interest in mechanical engineering and industrial maintenance.
• Basic understanding of mechanical equipment such as pumps, motors, bearings and gearboxes would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance activities.
• Support experienced engineers with mechanical fault finding and repairs.
• Learn to maintain and repair pumps, gearboxes, motors, agitators, valves and associated equipment.
• Assist with welding, fabrication and general mechanical fitting tasks.
• Gain experience working on industrial utilities, including steam boilers and compressed-air systems.
