Job summary

MCS Group are partnering with a global veterinary pharmaceutical company to recruit a Trainee Accountant in Newry. You will support the finance team with monthly management accounts, accruals, and budgeting activities while starting your CIMA qualification.

The role offers hybrid working, 32 days leave, healthcare cash plan, and sick pay, with a starting salary around £26k+ per year. You will report to the Finance Manager and develop experience across financial reporting and inventory valuation.

Qualifications

• Graduate in Accountancy/Finance with minimum 2:1.
• Ready to start studying to achieve the CIMA qualification.
• At least 1 year’s experience in a finance role.

The Role

Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, the successful Trainee Accountant will be responsible for:

• Support the preparation of monthly management accounts
• Scheduling Accruals and Prepayments
• Assist with annual budget preparation, monthly balance sheet reconciliations, and key financial reporting for business functions.
• Assist with month-end valuation of inventory
• Prepare financial reports and analysis
• Other ad-hoc responsibilities outlined in the job description

The Person

The successful Trainee Accountant will meet the following criteria:

• Graduate in Accountancy/Finance (minimum 2:1)
• Ready to start studying to achieve the CIMA qualification
• At least 1 year's experience in a finance role
