Job summary

SSEN Distribution is recruiting a Trainee Linesperson based in Aldershot. You will join a hands-on training programme to maintain and upgrade overhead electricity networks while earning as you learn.

The 18–24 month course combines classroom work with on‑the‑job training, culminating in a national qualification and authorisations to work on the network. You’ll gain practical skills, travel to regional sites, and become part of a safety‑focused team.

Qualifications

• Eagerness to learn and complete a multi‑year training programme.
• Commitment to Health & Safety standards and working at height.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair overhead electricity networks.
• Construct and upgrade LV, 11kV, 33kV infrastructure.
• Work at height and deliver safe, customer‑facing service.
• Support planned and emergency assignments as part of the team.
