Job summary

Teaching Personnel is seeking a Trainee Learning Support Assistant to support secondary school pupils (11-18) in classrooms and across lessons. The role offers funded training and DBS support, with a focus on inclusion and positive behaviour in a Cardiff environment.

Starting September 2026, the position runs term-time during 8:30am–3:30pm, Monday to Friday, with pay at £120 per day and weekly PAYE. No previous school experience required, just transferable skills and a passion for education.

Location: Cardiff

The Role

As a Trainee Learning Support Assistant, you'll make a real difference by supporting secondary school pupils (aged 11-18), including those with Additional Learning Needs (ALN) such as:

  • Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
  • ADHD
  • Dyslexia
  • Social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties

Your role will involve:

  • Providing one-to-one and small group support
  • Assisting students in lessons across a variety of subjects
  • Encouraging inclusion and promoting positive behaviour

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
