Job summary

Specsavers Hanley is seeking a proactive Trainee Lab Technician to join our optical lab team. You will learn to read prescriptions, set up blocking/glazing machines, assemble lenses into frames and tint lenses while maintaining high quality standards for customer satisfaction.

You’ll receive thorough training, work full-time (37.5 hours) with a weekend day, and benefit from Specsavers perks and ongoing development within a busy store environment.

Responsibilities

• Reading lens and frame specifications from prescriptions.
• Using blocking and glazing machines to cut lenses to the correct shape and fit.
• Assembling lenses into frames.
• Tinting of lenses to provide UV protection and a variety of colours.
• Ordering frames and lenses.
• Quality checking of completed glasses.
• Good housekeeping and machine maintenance.
