Job summary

Altrad is seeking a Trainee HSE Advisor based in Norwich, Gt. Yarmouth or Aldermaston, covering the South and South East. The role is for an individual keen to develop in Health and Safety within a construction setting and is permanent, with 38-hour weeks from Monday to Friday.

The position offers a structured development path including IOSH/NEBOSH qualifications, with duties spanning inductions, on-site safety coaching, RAMS, safety tours and incident investigations.

Qualifications

• Experience in industrial, engineering, construction, maintenance or similarly regulated environments.
• Knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety legislation and its practical application.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage at all levels.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Experience on a construction site in a construction position (e.g., Scaffolder).
• Ability to obtain UK National SC (Security Clearance).

Responsibilities

• Support onboarding of new employees, including inductions and Drug & Alcohol screening.
• Provide day-to-day HSEQ advice and support to site management and teams.
• Monitor activities to ensure compliance with Altrad procedures and client rules.
• Assist with RAMS preparation, review and implementation.
• Maintain a strong regional presence and promote safe behaviours.
• Deliver toolbox talks and HSEQ briefings.
• Produce accurate HSEQ reports and maintain records.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify continuous improvement opportunities.
