Job summary

MEMS Power Generation in the UK is seeking a Trainee Engineer to assist with generator maintenance and repair, working with a team of engineers in both the workshop and on customer sites. The role requires a practical engineering/workshop background, and an interest in how engines operate.

You will have a minimum of 2 years in an engineering environment, a full UK driving licence, and strong communication and physical fitness.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of practical experience in an engineering or workshop environment.
• Experience working with engines preferred.
• Essential: full UK driving licence; good communication skills; positive work ethos; physically fit.

Responsibilities

• Assist with Mechanical/electrical repairs and rebuilds.
• Generator service and maintenance on and off site.
• Preventive maintenance.
• Training of apprentices.
• Fault finding/diagnosis and rectification.
• Testing and inspection of equipment.
• Preparation of project specific rental applications.
• Telephone support and guidance for other employees.
• Research and development of new mechanical products.
• Maintain H&S, Quality and Environmental standards as per Regulations and Manuals.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping at all times.
