SGN in the United Kingdom is recruiting Trainee Gas Engineers for locations including Godstone, Tonbridge, Tunbridge Wells, Maidstone, Reigate, Sevenoaks and Redhill. Start date is September 2026.

• Support engineers on site and learning from them daily during gas service and mains repair activities
• Excavation, digging in the public & private highways, laying and repairing gas pipes so you will work in various outdoor environments safely and as part of a team
• Keep gas supply running to millions of people year-round with standby and overtime opportunities
• Maintain SGN vans and tools before and after each job, ensuring your team has all the equipment to do your job safely and efficiently

We keep our customers safe and warm. We are on hand to attend and repair gas escapes 24/7, 365 days a year.

Will be required to be clean shaven:

As part of our commitment to the personal safety of our employees you will be required to be clean shaven, and pass a face fit test, to wear tight fitting dust masks and breathing apparatus. This is for personal protection to ensure you don’t breathe in any harmful substances, whilst carrying out critical work within our communities.

Holds a valid UK driver’s licence:

A full, valid UK driver’s licence is essential for this role.

Due to operational response times, you must be based within a commutable distance from the desired locations.
