Job summary

Balfour Beatty is recruiting a Trainee Foreman to join the South Coast Regional Civils team, covering projects around Ringmer. You will work closely with senior site management to learn day-to-day delivery of civil engineering projects, coordinating site activities and supporting workforce safely and efficiently.

The role offers a clear path to becoming a Foreman within a leading UK infrastructure business, with opportunities to develop leadership, site management skills and practical experience

Qualifications

• Experience working on site
• Understanding of construction site practices and processes
• Experience supervising or coordinating teams is a bonus
• Strong commitment to health, safety and quality
• Good communication and organisational skills
• Proactive approach and willingness to take responsibility
• Ambition to develop into a Foreman within Balfour Beatty

Responsibilities

• Support the Foreman and Site Management team in daily construction activities
• Supervise and coordinate site operatives and subcontractors
• Help plan and organise labour, materials, plant and equipment
• Ensure work is carried out safely and in line with RAMS
• Monitor progress and report issues or delays to site management
• Support quality inspections and ensure work meets required standards
• Maintain high standards of health, safety and environmental compliance
• Build positive relationships with site teams, subcontractors and stakeholders
• Develop knowledge of construction methods, programmes and site management
