Job summary

NewCold is seeking a Trainee European Planner in the UK, with Wakefield or Corby base. You will learn European road freight, customs documentation, and multi‑modal logistics under supervision, developing into a skilled planner with on‑the‑job training.

Qualifications

  • Willing to learn and take on responsibility.

Responsibilities

  • Support the planning and coordination of European road freight and short sea import/export shipments
  • Assist with the preparation and management of customs and shipping documentation
  • Monitor shipments, track progress, and provide updates to stakeholders
  • Liaise with carriers, customers, and internal teams under supervision
  • Gain exposure to deep sea, air freight, and multi-modal logistics operations
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
  • Participate in training to develop knowledge of customs compliance and international trade

Trainee European Planner

Location: Wakefield or Corby based. Hours: 42.5 hours per week (Monday- Friday 08:00-16:30). Salary: £24,000.000 - £30,000.00 per annum

Key Responsibilities

Requirements
  • Full UK driving licence with flexibility to travel within the UK
  • Occasional overseas travel may be required as part of this role (to be discussed further at interview)
  • GCSEs in English and Mathematics (Grade C/4 or above), or equivalent
  • Motivated and ambitious, with a strong interest in logistics and freight forwarding
  • Well organised, with good attention to detail
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Willing to learn and take on responsibility
  • Interest in international trade, transport, or logistics.
  • Proactive, solution‑oriented mindset.
  • Flexible and adaptable, able to thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
