Line Up Aviation is recruiting a Trainee Electroplater near Heathrow Airport to support electroplating of aircraft components, ensuring safety and durability.

The role offers full training, a 4 on 4 off shift (6:30am–6:30pm), and a salary of £29,800–£32,500 with shift pay. Ideal for hands-on engineers seeking long-term progression in aerospace.

Qualifications

• Minimum 12 months’ hands-on experience within an engineering or manufacturing environment is essential.
• Exposure to working with industrial chemicals would be a huge advantage in this role.
• Applicants must already hold the right to live and work in the UK; sponsorships cannot be provided.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with loading and unloading electroplating equipment.
• Supporting electroplaters with day-to-day operational tasks.
• Cleaning, preparing, masking, and plating components (including cadmium plating).
• Working with rinsing tanks and chemical processes.
• Assisting with grit blasting and surface preparation techniques.
• Supporting finishing processes such as Alocrom.
• Following technical drawings, process specifications, and manuals.
• Using material handling equipment including slings and jigs.
• Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
• Completing training as required.

You will gain hands-on experience across all stages of electroplating, working closely with experienced professionals in a highly regulated environment.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• Minimum 12 months’ hands-on experience within an engineering or manufacturing environment is essential
• Exposure to working with industrial chemicals would also be a huge advantage in this role
• Strong willingness to learn and develop new skills
• Awareness of PPE and safe working practices
• Experience using overhead cranes or forklifts preferred
• Exposure to the aviation or aerospace sector preferred
• Ability to accurately follow instructions and work to technical standards
• Team player with a proactive attitude & happy to work under pressure
• Good written and spoken English plus strong communication skills
