Héroux-Devtek Inc. in Runcorn seeks a Plating Technician to produce conforming aerospace components with tight tolerances, applying hard chrome, nickel, cadmium coatings, and related processes.

You will prepare parts, set up jigs, control amperage and timing, and follow detailed instructions to ensure high-quality, compliant plating. The role supports a collaborative team environment with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in electroplating, HVOF coating, cadmium, nickel, and chrome plating, as well as metal finishing and polishing.
• Skilled in working to tight tolerances and familiar with GD&T standards.
• Proficient in using precision measurement tools such as micrometeors and borematics.
• Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Prepare components for plating using various masking techniques.
• Apply appropriate jigs and tooling to ensure correct plating deposits.
• Calculate optimal plating settings, including amperage and timing.

Division info: Located in Runcorn, United Kingdom, our newly extended 120,000 sq. ft. facility is a fully integrated site offering comprehensive manufacturing, repair, and overhaul services to the major players in the landing gear industry. Designated as a Center of Excellence, the facility specializes in surface treatment and assembly of small to medium sized landing gear systems.

Job Summary

The Plating technician primary purpose is to produce conforming aerospace components, working to tight tolerances and electro-plating Hard Chrome, Sulphamate Nickel and Cadmium coatings.
