Metro Rod West Yorkshire in the West Leeds area is seeking a motivated Trainee Drainage Engineer to join our team. The role offers full training, a 45-hour week, and progression in the drainage trade while working outdoors in all conditions.
You will perform drain cleaning, repair and maintenance, operate high-pressure water jetting equipment, take surveys, and deliver excellent customer service to domestic and commercial clients. A full UK driving licence is required.

Salary £29,741 - £31,590 basic salary plus on-call, overtime (£12.71 - £13.50)

This role is ideal for someone practical, hardworking and keen to build a long-term career in the drainage industry. You may already have experience in construction, utilities, groundworks or another hands‑on environment, or simply be looking for an opportunity to learn a skilled trade. No previous drainage experience is essential, as full training will be provided—but you’ll need a positive attitude, a willingness to learn and be comfortable working outdoors in all conditions.
