Job summary

NHS Forth Valley is seeking a trainee technician for the Area Sterilisation & Disinfection Unit (ASDU). The role involves decontamination, disassembly, assembly, packaging and sterilisation of reusable medical devices and processing of Flexible Endoscopes.

Hours are 5/7; the department is open Monday to Friday 5-9pm, and Saturday/Sunday 8am-4pm. The successful candidate will need to complete a Level 2 Disclosure Scotland check and progress from Agenda for Change Band 2 to Band 3 after training.

Qualifications

• Must be willing to work in a busy decontamination unit and handling equipment.
• Must complete a Level 2 Disclosure Scotland check.
• Flexible approach to meet service needs.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate, disassemble, assemble, package and sterilise reusable medical devices.
• Process Flexible Endoscopes in accordance with procedures.
• Operate equipment and machinery within ASDU.
