Job summary

Nuffield Health in Wetherby is seeking a Decontamination Process Technician to join the Wetherby HSSU Hub on a part-time, ad hoc basis. The role involves dismantling, sterilising and inspecting medical instruments for theatre surgery, and maintaining a clean, compliant workspace.

We offer a £12.84 per hour rate, weekend uplift of 20%, and a benefits package including holiday, pension and discounted gym membership. Prior sterile services experience and basic education are desirable.

Qualifications

• General education with literacy and numeracy skills
• Evidence of sterile services training would be advantageous

Responsibilities

• Dismantle and prepare and sterilise Medical Instruments ready for Theatre Surgery
• Inspect and maintain instruments to a high standard
• Help to ensure all equipment is in good working order
• Regularly check medical equipment for damage and report any faults
• Work with a strong friendly team
• Take on training as required
• Maintain a clean and tidy work environment
• Take action to resolve any problems
• Escalate issues where necessary
• Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with our policies and procedures
• Handle manual handling duties up to 13kg
• Have strong attention to detail and an overarching desire to deliver a high quality service
