Job summary

The Link CIC is recruiting a Child Wellbeing Practitioner to train within CYP IAPT and work in the Tees Valley Getting Help Team. You will assess and treat mild to moderate depression and anxiety in children and young people under supervision, delivering brief, outcome-focused interventions across settings including schools.

Successful candidates will undertake university-based study with Northumbria University, receive clinical supervision, and may gain a postgraduate qualification while

Qualifications

• Holds a recognised qualification in counselling or psychological therapy.
• Accredited or registered with a relevant professional body (HCPC/BACP/BABCP/BAAT/UKCP/BPS).
• Demonstrates an understanding of CYP IAPT.
• Experience in children and young people mental health services.
• Experience in educational settings.

Responsibilities

• Assess children and young people with mild to moderate mental health difficulties under supervision.
• Support waiting list management and prioritisation.
• Collaborate with families, social workers and other professionals.
• Deliver brief, evidence-based interventions with supervision.
• Adhere to CYP IAPT values and service governance.
• Use referral pathways for additional services.
