Labcorp is seeking Trainee Animal Technicians to join our team in Alconbury, Cambridgeshire. We are the largest employer of animal technicians in the UK and need dedicated individuals like you.

We support our technicians through comprehensive training and development programs, including gaining accredited qualifications in Animal Science and Technology, as well as structured career progression. After a successful 6-month probation and meeting all early training requirements, you will be eligible for career progression and a pay review. You may also be considered for training to obtain a Home Office personal licence.

Your main responsibilities as a Trainee Animal Technician will include:

• Providing food, water, and bedding to animals
• Changing cages and related equipment
• Assisting in handling animals for procedures
• Cleaning animal rooms and facilities
• Preparing equipment and materials for studies
• Recording routine study data manually and electronically

Weekend work is required, with additional pay and days off in lieu. Overtime opportunities are available during weekdays and weekends.

Education/Qualifications

• Animal Care or Animal Management qualifications at Level 2 or higher are desirable but not essential
• 5 GCSE passes or equivalent, including Maths, English, and Science

Experience

• Ability to learn, empathize with animals, and develop necessary skills
• Previous experience with animals is beneficial
