Job summary

Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioner to join the integrated healthcare team at HMP The Verne in Dorchester. This Band 7 development role offers postgraduate training in Advanced Clinical Practice while building advanced knowledge across clinical practice, leadership, education and research, with at least 20% learning off-the-job.

You will work semi-autonomously, delivering safe, evidence-based care to a diverse prison population and progress your career

Qualifications

• Qualified healthcare professional, UK registered.
• Willingness to undertake PGDip in Advanced Clinical Practice.
• Minimum of three years of clinical experience delivering care.
• Experience working within healthcare services at an enhanced level.
• Evidence of comprehensive clinical and risk assessments.
• Understanding of specialist conditions and evidence-based interventions.
• Strong clinical reasoning, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to build and maintain effective multidisciplinary working relationships.

Responsibilities

• Undertake postgraduate training while consolidating advanced knowledge across clinical practice, leadership, education and research.
• Work semi-autonomously within an agreed scope of practice to deliver evidence-based care.
• Provide clinical leadership, supervision, teaching and support to colleagues, students and other healthcare professionals.
• Contribute to clinical audit, research, quality improvement and service development initiatives.
• Maintain a professional portfolio and demonstrate competence across four pillars of advanced clinical practice.
• Support governance, safeguarding and policies within the Trust.
