Job summary

Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an Advanced Clinical Practitioner (Band 8a) to lead the Primary Care team in a prison setting at HMP Portland. The post is permanent, part-time 30 hours per week, with a pro rata salary in the listed band. Salary range £57,528–£64,750 pro rata per annum.

You will deliver advanced clinical care, provide expert clinical leadership and supervise staff within an integrated prison health service, improving wellbeing and outcomes.

Qualifications

• Registered Healthcare Professional (Nurse, Paramedic, AHP)
• Accredited Advanced Clinical Practice program at Masters Level (level 7)
• V300 Independent prescriber
• An autonomous practitioner delivering advanced clinical care across a broad scope including undifferentiated patients
• Previous middle management experience in a multi‑disciplinary environment delivering Primary Care
• Experience of service implementation, development and change management
• Experience of managing staff
• Experience of working within prison settings

Responsibilities

• Lead the Primary Care team with clinical leadership in the Integrated Healthcare Service for the prison
• Deliver quality primary care interventions to patients and lead innovative practice
• Provide expert clinical leadership and supervision to the Primary Care team
• Develop and participate in supervision programmes ensuring staff appraisal and development
• Implement patient centred care planning tools and trauma informed delivery within the establishment
