Job description

We are looking for a Trainee Accounts Assistant to join our friendly team at Lookers Accounts Office in Stirling Audi. This is a great opportunity for someone interested in starting a career in finance within an award-winning automotive company.

The role involves assisting in various areas within a busy accounts office environment. You will work closely with the Accounts and Admin team and Line Managers, following set procedures on daily, weekly, and monthly cycles. Your responsibilities will include carrying out reconciliations, producing management reports, and supporting the team with various accounting tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Review and reconcile Debtors and carry out credit control procedures
  • Assist with monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Handle cashiering duties, including banking and petty cash
  • Support management in resolving accounting queries
  • Report discrepancies to relevant managers

Qualifications

Ideally, you will have some experience in a finance-related role, along with strong Microsoft Excel skills and the ability to reconcile data accurately. Attention to detail is essential, as maintaining precise records is a key part of the role.

You should be well-organized, able to work under pressure, prioritize tasks effectively, and demonstrate initiative to improve procedures. Good communication skills are important, as you will need to communicate clearly in various methods. You must also handle sensitive information discreetly and maintain confidentiality.
