Job summary

Michael Page Finance is seeking a Permanent Trainee Accountant in Worthing to assist with statutory accounts for sole traders, partnerships and companies, and support audit assignments on-site or remotely for a varied client base.

You will work toward an AAT qualification with a study package, gain practical accounting experience, and handle tasks such as VAT returns, bookkeeping, and preparation of management accounts using Xero, QuickBooks, Sage and CCH.

Qualifications

• Interest in practical accounting and finance knowledge.
• Strong GCSEs/A-Level results.
• Willingness to study for AAT qualification.
• Good communication and IT skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation of statutory accounts for sole traders, partnerships and companies.
• Support audit assignments on-site and remotely for a varied client portfolio.
• Prepare working papers and ensure files are completed accurately and on time.
• Assist with VAT returns and tax computations.
• Support production of management accounts and financial reports.
• Process bookkeeping records and reconcile balance sheets.
