Job summary

Gen II Fund Services in Jersey is seeking a diligent Fund Accountant to join the finance team. You will handle day-to-day bookkeeping for fund structures, record journal entries, reconcile accounts, and assist in preparing financial statements and investor reporting.

You will also help prepare Fund NAV packs, liaise with auditors, support capital calls and distributions, respond to investor queries, and operate within ISAE 3402 controls. A GCSE or equivalent and studying ACCA/ACA are expected.

Qualifications

• GCSE or equivalent academic background.
• Willingness to study towards ACCA or ACA.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.

Job description

Within this role the individual will work as part of the team doing day-to-day bookkeeping and assisting on various reporting requirements.

What you’ll be doing

• Record journal entries related to fund transactions and associated fund structures
• Reconcile bank accounts, investments and other account balances
• Maintenance of general ledgers
• Assist in preparation of financial statements (quarterly or annual), investor reports and other financial reporting deliverables
• Assist in preparation of Fund NAV packs and working papers
• Coordinate with auditors during year-end audits; provide supporting documentation and responding to audit queries
• Assist in processing capital calls and distributions to investors of the fund structure
• Assist in responding to investor queries
• Operate within a ISAE 3402 controls environment
• Liaising with external contacts to obtain and provide required information
• Assisting with and contributing to ad hoc projects as required

The ideal background for this role:

• A good academic background to include GCSE or equivalent
• Willingness to study towards a recognised accounting qualification (ACCA or ACA)
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel

Role Location/Hybrid Schedule

This role is based in our Jersey office. Although the nature of most of the roles within Gen II cannot be classed as totally flexible, there is scope in some cases for a form of Agile Working. The different ways in which Agile Working can be undertaken is dependent on the demands and needs of the business, the office space available and the individual’s preferences and circumstances.
