Job description

Job Title: Train Care Operative

As a Train Care Operative, you will be part of a dedicated team responsible for the presentation of the GWR fleet. Your role involves ensuring the interior and exterior of our trains are cleaned to a high standard, providing comfort and a great experience for our customers.

Main Responsibilities:

1. Carry out all cleaning activities using chemicals and techniques in accordance with relevant manuals and specifications.
2. Seek ways to improve standards and flexibility within the cleaning team.
3. Create, maintain, and enhance effective working relationships.
4. Comply with safety standards at all times.

Qualifications and Skills Needed:

• Ability to perform physically demanding cleaning duties.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to complete tasks to set standards and in accordance with procedures.
• Commitment to delivering high-quality cleaning inside and outside of trains.
• Ability to handle biohazards safely, including blood, bodily fluids, sharps, discarded syringes, and razors.

Minimum Requirements:

• NVQ Level 1 or 2 in Cleaning and Support Services or working towards it.
• Understanding of COSHH and Health and Safety regulations.
• Previous experience in cleaning or support services.
• Willingness to learn new skills.

Additional Information:

This is a permanent day shift role, working on a 7-day rota, including weekends and Bank Holidays.

This campaign also serves to create a reserve list for future vacancies within the next six months.
