Job summary

Yunex Traffic is seeking a Traffic Signal Maintenance Technician to diagnose faults, perform reactive and planned maintenance, and inspect traffic signal assets. The role involves installation and setup of equipment, adherence to safety standards, and collaboration with on-site contractors.

Qualifications

• GCSEs including Mathematics and English or equivalent qualification in electrical engineering.
• Experience in Traffic Signals and/or Highways industry preferred but not essential.
• Demonstrated reliability, initiative, flexibility and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Attend, diagnose and resolve faults on traffic signal assets and related equipment under the TSM contract.
• Complete reactive and proactive maintenance tasks to high quality standards.
• Carry out periodic inspections of traffic signal assets and related equipment.
• Install, replace and setup traffic signal assets and ancillary systems, on-site or in a team.
• Complete remedial works following incidents and equipment failures.
• Build and maintain positive customer relationships and collaborate with on-site contractors.
• Use hand tools, power tools, working at height and manual handling safely per risk assessments and training.
• Submit detailed clearance notes via FMS and other platforms as required.
• Support contract management with site surveys and delivery planning.
• Work to contract requirements including response and repair times and scheduled works.
• Log hours according to the Variable Pay Policy and Live Time Booking process.
• Meet HERS qualifications and work toward NVQ level as applicable.
• Complete mandatory Sector Scheme and equipment training; training will be mixed in format.
• Be available for out-of-hours support and on-call duties as required.
• Promote a positive Health & Safety culture and complete task risk assessments and checks.
• Accurately collect and process data for fault analysis and reporting.
• Ensure on-site works meet specifications, timelines and quality standards.
• Support training and upskilling of other team members.
• Adopt new policies and processes positively and perform other duties as needed.
