Gigaclear is seeking a Traffic Management Operative to join our team in Witham, supporting Build teams by interpreting CAD drawings and ensuring highway permits, temporary traffic lights, road closures, and signing are followed for safe, compliant civil site set ups. You will hold a valid driving licence, DBS clearance, and NRSWA/LANTRA M1/M2 accreditations, with experience in fibre/telecoms build a plus.

Qualifications

• Valid driving licence (manual) required.
• DBS check, or ability to obtain.
• NRSWA and Lantra M1/M2 qualifications required.
• Experience with fibre/telecoms build or repair desirable.
• Ability to interpret CAD drawings and comply with permit conditions.

Responsibilities

• Support Build teams by interpreting CAD drawings and applying highway permits, temporary traffic lights, road closures and signing for safe site setup.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and safety procedures on civil sites.
• Assist with vehicle coordination and equipment logistics from the Witham depot.
• Comply with drug and alcohol testing policy during onboarding and throughout employment.

Job description

Perhaps you are a Traffic Management Operative working for a contractor and looking to make a switch to the client for more stability and security?

Or perhaps you are looking to add to your TM experience, through expanding your skills and knowledge of fibre network build, including hands on engineering, splicing and testing?

Reporting into the Operations Manager, you will support our Build teams, taking CAD drawings and ensuring regulations are followed for Highway permits, temporary traffic lights, road closures and signing, etc for safe and compliant civil site set up.

The Traffic Management kit is stored at our office in Witham, so you would live locally for easy pick up and drop off using a 7.5 ton flat-bed truck.

Knowledge & Skills

• An experienced and qualified Traffic Management Operative
• Fibre and / or Telecoms build or repair experience desirable
• Strong knowledge of highways legislation, including working from CAD drawings and permit conditions
• Previous knowledge and experience of in the field Civils specifications desirable - eg NRSWA
• Previous experience of delivery to pre-defined project schedules
• Able to understand, interpret and adhere to risk & method assessments.
