Job Title: Traffic Management Operative

As an experienced Traffic Management Operative, you will be responsible for implementing Traffic Management Schemes across various projects, ensuring smooth and efficient operations to maximize daily productivity while maintaining high Health and Safety standards. Flexibility is essential due to the nature of the role, including working days, nights, and some weekends. A responsible and proactive attitude is required.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all traffic management methods, including Give and Take, Priority, Stop/Go boards, Portable traffic signals, Convoy working, Road closures, Lane closures, and diversions.
• Ensure all work complies with safe working practices and best practice procedures.
• Conduct risk assessments and prepare method statements for traffic management activities.
• Carry out activities according to established procedures, identify areas for improvement, and report to your line manager.
• Perform daily vehicle checks to maintain cleanliness, safety, and operational readiness.
• Promote a positive company image through appropriate attire, attitude, and site cleanliness.
• Show initiative by identifying opportunities for process improvements.
• Assist the public by guiding them safely through site lines when necessary.
• Recognize when management intervention is required.

Experience and Qualifications

• Lantra 12d accreditation (TTMBC, 12d M1-M5) at minimum.
• Understanding of Chapter 8 and the Safety at Street Works and Road Works (Red Book) regulations, and their applications.
• Valid UK driving licence.
• Ability to read and interpret CAD drawings related to work requirements.
• Mechanical skills related to Traffic Lights are advantageous.
