Job summary

National Highways is recruiting Traffic Officers to be based at Hook (RJ27 9DD). You will manage incidents on the strategic road network, ensuring safety and timely updates to partners and customers. The role operates 24/7 with 6 days on, 3 days off, including various shift patterns.

The starting salary is up to £37,762.50 with a 25% shift allowance and £1,500 RRA, rising to £39,262.50 after 9 months of probation. You will drive as part of the role and be part of a dedicated team.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence with no more than 3 points.
• Live within one hour's commutable distance of Hook.
• Experience of motorway driving.
• Knowledge of and experience contributing to workplace safety.
• Provide and deliver a high quality customer service.
• Self-motivated team player.
• Experience of successfully working unsupervised.

Responsibilities

• Respond to incidents and manage scenes safely and promptly.
• Deploy traffic management and co-ordinate with emergency services and responders.
• Work within a team to achieve performance targets.
• Communicate updates via radio and mobile devices to colleagues and stakeholders.
• Maintain records of vehicles and equipment.
