Job summary

ESSENTIAL EMPLOYMENT LTD is seeking a Traffic Engineer to work around Bexleyheath on full-time hours on a temporary basis. The role pays £18.25 per hour and is suitable for applicants with highway design and traffic management experience.

You will design traffic management schemes, prepare TROs, analyse data, and liaise with residents and stakeholders while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience in traffic engineering and highway schemes.
• Knowledge of TROs and traffic calming measures.
• Ability to analyse traffic, accident and parking data.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop traffic management and highway improvement schemes.
• Prepare traffic regulation orders (TROs), traffic calming measures, parking schemes, and junction improvements.
• Analyse traffic, accident, parking, and transport data to identify issues and propose solutions.
• Undertake site visits, surveys, feasibility studies, and technical assessments.
• Produce technical reports, drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Respond to enquiries from residents, councillors, developers, and stakeholders.
• Support road safety initiatives and sustainable transport projects.
• Manage external consultants and contractors where required.
• Ensure schemes comply with legislation, regulations, design standards and health and safety requirements.
• Attend public consultations, meetings, and stakeholder engagement events.
