• The Traffic Engineer position is a 6-month contract with a local authority, offering a daily rate of £202 under an umbrella arrangement. This role is pivotal in supporting the planning, design, and execution of traffic management and highway improvement projects throughout the borough. The position plays a crucial role in enhancing road safety, optimizing traffic flow, and maintaining the highway network's quality, all while adhering to relevant laws, policies, and engineering standards.
  

Responsibilities

• Collect and analyze data from traffic, highway, and site surveys.
  
• Design and develop traffic management and highway improvement schemes.
  
• Create engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
  
• Assist in the design and implementation of parking controls, traffic regulations, and highway improvement projects.
  
• Contribute to the development of complex traffic and highway schemes.
  
• Prepare cost estimates and financial forecasts for traffic management projects.
  
• Issue work orders, site instructions, and technical guidance to contractors.
  
• Monitor contractor performance to ensure work meets specifications.
  
• Inspect completed projects to verify quality, quantities, and materials used.
  
• Review contractor invoices and payment claims, providing recommendations for payment approval.

Additional Information
