Job summary

Tower Research Capital is based in London and seeks a capable support engineer to work with traders and engineers on a fast-paced platform. You’ll diagnose production issues, contribute to system design, and help evolve our Python framework and monitoring stack.

Expected to engage with brokers and exchanges, provide after-hours coverage, and travel to other locations as needed. Strong English communication and a passion for learning are essential.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years in a high-pressure environment with production-issues resolution.
• Understanding of electronic trading and financial instruments such as equities, futures and options.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with strong ownership.
• Strong Unix skills and Python programming.
• Experience with Grafana.
• Good understanding of networking and system concepts.
• Willingness to take on tasks both big and small.
• Excellent communication skills and fluency in English.
• A passion for learning and innovative problem solving.
• Experience with SQL and the use of databases is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Working closely with traders to understand their needs.
• Solving problems by providing level one and level two support for our production systems.
• Contributing to the design and implementation of the support system to enhance reliability and self-correction.
• Enhancing our existing Python framework, driving its growth and contributing to the codebase.
• Harnessing AI-powered solutions to significantly reduce time-to-market for system changes.
• Contributing to the monitoring stack and reporting on the status and health of our systems.
• Serving as the primary technical contact for brokers and exchanges.
• Providing periodic after-hours coverage.
