Job summary

The London Borough of Waltham Forest is seeking an Investigative Support officer within Regulatory Services to conduct investigations into trading standards violations and provide specialist guidance on enforcement.

The role combines office-based work with site visits, requires flexibility for evenings and weekends, and will support consumer protection efforts across the borough in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Trading Standards qualification or equivalent.
• Experience with trading standards legislation and enforcement.
• Strong communication and written skills.
• Ability to work independently and under pressure.
• Adaptability to flexible working hours including evenings/weekends.

Responsibilities

• Investigate trading standards violations thoroughly.
• Provide specialist advice on enforcement to colleagues and stakeholders.
• Monitor and enforce compliance with trading standards regulations.
• Collaborate with team members and external stakeholders to resolve cases.
• Carry out duties at flexible times, including evenings and weekends.
