Job summary

Maven, a London-based proprietary trading firm, is expanding its Quantitative Positional Trading team. The Trading Analyst will research and improve strategies, build scalable infrastructure, and evaluate alpha performance across global options markets.

The role requires strong Python/SQL skills, effective communication, and an interest in financial markets. Experience with production systems and modern devops tools is desirable.

Trading Analyst - QPT (Quantitative Positional Trading)

THE ROLE

Maven is rapidly expanding its Quantitative Positional Trading Team and is seeking a Trading Analyst to join this fast-growing unit. The desk is active across global options markets and has a key focus on fair value generation, portfolio construction, and alpha performance evaluation.

We are looking for a Trading Analyst to research and improve both new and existing strategies, build and maintain scalable infrastructure, and attribute the performance of the desk.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conduct research and backtests on potential alphas across the volatility surface, term structure, 0DTE, relative value and dispersion trades.


• Perform analysis of PnL attribution, market dynamics, and changes in volatility surfaces.


• Work directly with traders to prototype ideas, test hypotheses, and iterate on strategies.


• Take ownership of desk-owned infrastructure, ensuring the stability of trading systems that can operate 23 hours a day.


• Build systems that balance the trade-offs between optimal architecture and rapid iteration.


• Build dashboards to visualise analyses and help traders with discretionary strategies.

REQUIREMENTS

• Strong Python and SQL.


• Strong and effective communication to allow for quick iteration in a fast-moving work environment.


• Interest in financial markets and derivatives.

NICE TO HAVE

• Experience with portfolio construction.


• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, ArgoCD (or equivalent systems).


• Experience developing and maintaining production systems.


• Experience with AI tools for analysis, programming, or research.
