Job summary

Maven, a London-based proprietary trading firm, is expanding its Quantitative Positional Trading team. The Trading Analyst will research and improve strategies, build scalable infrastructure, and evaluate alpha performance across global options markets.

The role requires strong Python/SQL skills, effective communication, and an interest in financial markets. Experience with production systems and modern devops tools is desirable.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to develop and backtest trading strategies.
• Strong Python and SQL skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in a fast-moving environment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research and backtests on alphas across volatility surfaces and trades.
• Analyze PnL attribution, market dynamics and volatility changes.
• Collaborate with traders to prototype ideas and test hypotheses.
• Own desk-owned infrastructure ensuring 23-hour trading system stability.
• Build scalable infrastructure balancing architecture and rapid iteration.
• Create dashboards to visualize analyses for discretionary strategies.
